A top-down improvement from previous models, the SA 18-inch sub features the largest motor in the series, now delivering over 35mm of mechanical excursion. The 2.75 coil punches way above its weight, outperforming most 3 coils without adding mass. The motor also features a large magnet shorting ring (faraday ring) to reduce distortion and deliver smoother response across the entire acoustic spectrum. The motor and coil setup is mated to an extremely robust double-layer spider with fully tied-on & doubled-up XL tinsel leads. A competition-grade paper cone and a strong foam surround were used to complete this masterpiece.
